Lily’s Hummous

Lily’s Hummous

We are all hummous monsters in this house and we probably have some everyday. It is very easy to make. This recipe doesn’t contain tahini paste ( we don’t have any right now but you could add a tablespoon if you like). This is so delicious! 1 can chickpeas  4 tbsp water 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 1- 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 chopped garlic clove 1 tsp ground cumin ( we like it spicy so we add more) salt and pepper to season   Pop it all in a blender and hey presto! You can add more water/ lemon juice...

Make your own hand gel!

Interesting times are here for sure. I don’t think we have ever washed our hands so much and it is crazy seeing certain shelves at the supermarket empty. Let’s hope this all blows over soon and we can all get back to normal! Anyway, I am making my own hand gel. I found a recipe online and I will share the link below. I haven’t added any vitamin E oil but I think I will pick some up next time I go shopping, as it would be a lovely addition. I got my little travel bottles and sprays all from Amazon and...

Frosé Weather!

Well with temperatures reaching 36 degrees C in the UK today, it would be the perfect time to cool down with some Frosé! I first learned about this 2 years ago while staying with family in San Francisco. There are loads of recipes out there but this one works for me.  I bottle Dry Rosé wine 250- 300g strawberries (or raspberries) washed and destalked. Juice of 1 lemon (Algarve syrup or stevia to sweeten if you wish) 1. Pour the wine into a freezable shallow  bowl or baking tray. Freeze overnight or until frozen.  2. Scrape out the frozen wine...

Beauty Pie

Dubbed the ‘Netflix of beauty’, Beauty Pie is winning over lots of people looking for quality products without the hefty price tag. My cousin first mentioned it to me and after looking at the website many tines, I finally joined the club (and I’m glad I did!)  I pay a monthly membership of £10 for a spending allowance of up to £100. There are cheaper or more expensive options, it’s up to you. Any leftover allowance rolls over to your next month- perfect! Beauty Pie cuts out the middle man and allows you to buy at factory prices. I particularly...

Rainbow Popsicles

Rainbow Popsicles

Now that the sun is out, what better way to cool down than with a healthy rainbow ice popsicle! These are packed with goodness and are easy to make, plus your kids will (hopefully) love them!  There are lots of popsicle moulds around but I particularly like this one  https://www.amazon.co.uk/TOPELEK-Popsicle-Certified-Non-Spill-Cleaning/dp/B07RTL53WG?ref_=Oct_BSellerC_3187112031_1&pf_rd_p=ffcfef1a-2e0d-53d0-8ae4-33aec841f22e&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-6&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=3187112031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=NAQ0WW3RG0JT6QMEZYZ1&pf_rd_r=NAQ0WW3RG0JT6QMEZYZ1&pf_rd_p=ffcfef1a-2e0d-53d0-8ae4-33aec841f22e   All you need to do is choose some colourful fruit. We like blueberries, raspberries, kiwi and mango but you could add anything you like really!  Using a nutribullet or blender, blend each fruit separately with water (except  kiwi which doesn’t need anything adding to it). Depending on taste, you...
